Today was to be somewhat different as we were on our way to collect a car!
The route to Queenstown was short and predominately down hill and had slick roads to match. We powered on to the town centre to be greeted with this phenomenal lake view. Click here for RIDE DATA.
We have thoroughly enjoyed the south island, but with the bombardment of tourist destinations and activities and limited road choices we decided to head back to the Northland for a more real Kiwi experience ie one where the locals out number the visitors.
I know crazy LookMumNoCar was getting a car, but it was a free ‘transfer car‘ to Auckland. It was the first one we had seen in ages that was totally free, no rent or insurance, a tank of gas and even our ferry tickets thrown in, BOOM! So we snapped it up sharpish.
We carefully packed the car up with the babies in the back and started the long ass journey back up North. We were to cover what had taken in two months by bike in just 5 days.
However, it did give us the chance to see very different parts of the country including the Canterbury Plains and the East Coast.
Stay tuned for more riding once we arrive!
